  • Staff are available to help you renew your license in person during office hours at 424 Chapel St, New Haven through April 30, 2026
    • Tuesdays 1pm-3pm (English)
    • Wednesdays 2pm-4pm (English & Español)
    • Thursdays 1pm-3pm (Español)

Our sanitarians protect the health of New Haven residents by inspecting body care facilities using guidelines laid out in Connecticut General Statutes Section 19a-231 and Public Act 19-117, Section 196(b). This applies to tattoo parlors, piercing parlors, hair salons and barber shops, massage parlors, nail salons, and other makeup and skin services like lashes, waxing, threading, and facials.
